Parasite Study (NGS) + EPX
A study using NGS technology for the advanced detection of parasites and helminths, complemented by the EPX marker associated with infection or an intestinal inflammatory response. It supports a more comprehensive assessment when parasitosis or related digestive disturbances are suspected.

The study of intestinal parasites (NGS) + EPX is a test designed to analyze the presence of various species of parasites and helminths in a stool sample through next-generation sequencing. This approach expands the detection capability and allows for more precise study of clinically relevant microorganisms in the context of digestive symptoms or suspicion of disbiosis associated with parasitosis.
In addition to the molecular analysis, the study incorporates the determination of EPX, a marker associated with infection or intestinal inflammatory activity that can provide additional context in clinical interpretation. The study identifies 17 parasite genera and 10 helminth genera, and is also presented as a profile capable of detecting more than 20 genera in total.
It is a useful test when looking to delve into the possible involvement of intestinal parasites in persistent or recurrent digestive symptoms.
What analyzes
- Detection of 17 species of parasites and 10 species of helminths (Blastocystis, Acanthamoeba, Entamoeba, Giardia, Spironucleus, Monocercomonoides, Cyclospora, Cystoisospora, Cryptosporidium, Eimeria, Neospora, Anncaliia, Enterospora, Hepatospora, Mitosporidium, Enterocytozoon, Enterobius, Ascaris, Strongyloides, Trichuris, Necator, Ancylostoma, Anisakis, Hymenolepis, Taenia and Fasciola. *The most abundant species are identified).
- Molecular study using NGS technology in fecal sample.
- Determination of EPX as a complementary marker.
- Results report with an approximate deadline of 15-20 days from the receipt of the sample by the collaborating laboratory.
Who is it indicated for
- People with diarrhea, constipation and poor digestion.
- People who need to evaluate food sensitivity and/or intestinal parasites.
- People with skin imbalances or alterations such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, among others.
How it works
- Make your purchase and receive the necessary material for the sample collection.
- Take the sample at home following the instructions included in the kit.
- We will receive your results report, interpret it and schedule you for a results consultation in approximately 15-20 business days from the laboratory's receipt of the sample.

Important information
This study is oriented to support the clinical evaluation of possible intestinal parasites and must be interpreted together with the clinical history, symptoms, and professional judgment. The determination of EPX can provide complementary information, but it should not be interpreted in isolation.
